An Impulse Buy
The world's smallest Tarot deck
The other day I was wandering through my local bookstore, when what did I spy on the shelf but the world’s smallest Tarot deck.
The one that also serves as a keychain. This one right here:
US Games - Tiny Tarot Keychain
What can I say? I like buying cool Tarot stuff. And I had it in mind that I just might be able to use such a thing while flying on airplanes. These cards are so small that one could easily fit even a Celtic Cross on an airliner tray table.
So, of course, I’ve been playing with it the last couple of days.
Maybe it would be better to say that I’ve been trying to play with it the last couple of days. The cards are so tiny that I have absolutely no hope of being able to shuffle them without dropping plenty onto the floor.
Now, I’ll be the first to admit that the Goddess forgot me when she was busy giving out dexterity. Perhaps I should not be surprised that these things are impossible for me to shuffle.
But, I imagine that everyone else would have a really, really hard time shuffling them as well.
That said though, the cards are really nicely printed, and not so small that the images aren’t clear. I can see them fine even with my old guy eyes.
I really do like the idea of being able to read Tarot on an airplane, or other tiny space. And the images on these cards are clear and readable.
So, I’m thinking about options.
My current thinking is that I could head to the crafting store and buy a bag of little blocks, or even rounds of wood. Then glue these little cards to the little bits of wood and hit the whole deal with a clear wood finish.
Then instead of trying to shuffle them, they could all just be tossed into a bag, the bag shaken, and the little blocks being drawn from it to create a spread.
It would be a cheap and easy project, and would still allow the use of tarot in tiny spaces.
At least that’s my thinking about the future of this impulse purchase at this time.

Love it - reading tarot like runes. You are onto something. 🧐
That actually sounds like a solution to my inability to shuffle regular cards! Sharing your dexterity challenges it’s one of my biggest frustrations with cards and small objects in general… thanks for the cool idea!
