Brief and beautiful. Nuts, seeds, and grains are out sometime 3-4 times a day for six squirrels and a few "zillion" small birds every day.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Our squirrel herd seems to rise and fall in numbers as time goes on, sometimes we only have a couple, sometimes more. I presume as offerings at other feeders in the neighborhood change. But the 'zillion' small birds is certainly replicated here.

The other thing we have is doves. Lots of doves.

I actually have a small shrine in a secluded part of my yard, and make offerings every week. It's a grounding and comforting practice.

I think that we can come to understand divinity by observing nature. In part, at least, for nature is the creation of the divine, without the interpretations added by man. I never felt closer to God than when I was young and fit and thin, and standing on top of a mountain somewhere. Some of that was of course endorphins or other brain chemicals, but it went beyond that.

I believe that as our cities have grown, that connection with the divine, through nature, becomes something that we may have to work a bit to find. But, it remains out there for us.

I also think you create an altar when you lay out the seeds and nuts for the birds and the squirrels

Thanks for this! I do think that to be true, assuming our intention is such.
